.....NOT THE SWIFTNESS

We are all moving towards the same destination, but our routes are different. Some people’s journey may be fast and easy like that of JOHN F. KENNEDY, while others may be long, difficult and twisting like that of ABRAHAM LINCOLN. It is not about swiftness of the journey. It is about the value you create and the contributions you make.

Sometimes, those who travel first are not always the first to arrive. Don’t be in haste. Never use another man’s life as your specimen. It is true that we are all humans, but we are created for different results. Just because something is not happening for you doesn’t mean it will never happen. Be calm. Work hard and pray. You will surely succeed.

 I hope to see you at the top.

JUST A LITTLE MARK

Leave a stamp on everything you do.

Make yourself an icon to be admired and respected.

Become an inspiration to others.

Think carefully before you speak and act. Every action, every word carries a consequence.

Create a genuineness about yourself that will be addictive to all those who meet you.

Leave a mark on those you meet that couldn't have been left if you weren't in their lives.

And finally, let the sands of time at least have a feeling that you passed through it.

Just a little mark is enough.

THE LUMP OF MARBLE IN ME

Life hands us a lump of marble and requires us to liberate the exquisite figure hidden inside. Life says be the architect of your fate. Life says I give you the chance to bring the finished product out of this lump of marble.

Your finished product depends not only on the quantity of the marble handed to you, but more on your ability to see what lies within that mass and your patience in crafting out the masterpiece the world will cherish. There is a ‘YOU’ in you that has not been seen yet. A you, unknown to your family, friends, colleagues, or boss. A you, waiting to be liberated.

Your lump may be twisted and rejected as a mess, but that’s not what is important. The important thing is what your finished product will look like.

There is a “YOU’ hidden inside of you. The ‘U’ in you is the unknown hidden in the marble. Will it be Unusually Unique, Unfazed or Unwanted or Undesirable? It’s your choice.

MANDELA LIVES ON

Only free men can negotiate; prisoners cannot enter into contract. Your freedom and mine can never be separated.

There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one which you are capable of living.

It always seems impossible until it is done.

After climbing a great hill, one finds that there are many more to climb.

There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere and many of us will have to pass through the valleys of shadow of death again and again before we reach the mountaintop of our desires. 

 

We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always right to do what is right.

There are times when a leader must move out ahead of the flock, go off in a new direction, confident that he is leading his people the right way.

I have walked that long road to freedom. I have tried not to falter; I have made missteps along the way. But I have discovered the secret that after climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb. I have taken a moment here to rest, to steal a view of the glorious vista that surrounds me, to look back on the distance I have come. But I can only rest for a moment, for with freedom come responsibilities, and I dare not linger, for my long walk is not ended.

The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.

Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down got back up again.

The only time to stop fighting for change is when you start seeing it.

I’m not a saint, I’m just a sinner who kept on trying.

No one is free until we are all free.

As I walked out the door toward the gate that would lead to my freedom, I knew if I didn’t leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I’d still be in prison.

One of the things I learned when I was negotiating was that until I changed myself, I could not change others.

A nation should not be judged by how it treats its highest citizens, but its lowest ones.

This titanic effort that has brought liberation to South Africa, and ensured the total liberation of Africa, constitutes an act of redemption for the black people of the world.

What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.

No one before and no one to come has your gifts. You weren’t meant to be like anyone else. You don’t need to change to show that you’re different. You were meant to be special. If you did not exist, there would be a gap in our lives, a change in our history, a hole in creation, and something missing from God’s plan. Cherish your uniqueness. It is a gift given only to you.
