THE FIRST STEP

A step, one step: beyond the journey of a thousand miles and it all began with that one step. The journey never starts until that first step is taken. Now, two steps, three steps, all have counted up to a thousand miles. It all started because that very first step was taken. Yes, that very first step; without it, there wouldn’t have been a second, nor a third not even a fourth. The first step began the process; it opened the door for many other steps. The first step is very crucial, it is the first of many steps that must be taken if we going to move forward. The nub is that to really move forward or go a long way in this life involves taking the first leap of courage, sacrifice and commitment. You have to take the first step, then the second, the third and all the steps that separate you from your goals. We really cannot get there without the first move, the first step, the first initiative. The giant pine tree grows from the tiny seedling. The skyscraper – a tower so high starts with a single brick. It is the process of life and it will continue to be so. Indeed, in any journey in this ocean of life; I mean to reach the other shore of our dreams and aspirations in life, we must begin with the first paddle of guts and courage. It all begins with the first step.

REMEMBER WHY YOU DO WHAT YOU DO

Remember why you do what you do when you feel discouraged and defeated. Remember why do what you do when it feels difficult to push forward even just for a little bit. It’s the only thing that will keep you going to the end. Take a pause, think about why you started the venture, reflect about the dreams you had, mull over the visions you foresaw and cogitate on the plans you made. Look back, think of the joy of saying you did it. The ecstasy of reminiscing and appreciating all the efforts you have used; they are often times worthwhile. Moments will come when everything is not going the way you would have expected, when the sun is not shining bright enough, when the stars refuse to shine in the night. You‘d have to trust on your dreams and goals; what made you start in the first place and hope they take you to the end. Consign on them, they are the only things that can keep you moving even when it feels like stopping. Remember why you do what you do. It will help you to finish the race you started.

'IF WISHES WERE HORSES'

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. If turnips were watches, I’d wear one by my side. If you could achieve your aims simply by wishing for them, then everyone would be living in golden mansions. If one could readily have what one wanted, then life would be so damn easy but unfortunately and woefully, life is not; you must struggle, fight, tussle, strive, toil, scuffle and battle for whatever you want. If pigs had wings, they would fly but justly they don’t have wings so they must do whatever is possible if they wish to fly. So, unluckily, if you want peace, prepare for war. If you want a thing done, do it yourself. If the mountain won’t come to you, you must go to the mountain. Every gain you will ever get in life has some inches of pain attached. Life will not give you what you wish for but what you have fought for. Even the Supreme Being “God” recognizes prayers in answering to a need. You must fight for whatever you want until you have realized it. Remember wishes are not horses so beggars would never ride unless they have owned a horse.

DECIDE!

We’re all going to die, we don’t get much to say on WHEN or HOW but we do get to decide how we’re going to live. We do get to elect how we’re going to subsist. We do get to adopt how we’re going to survive. Yes we do. So do it. DECIDE. Is this the life you want to live? Is this the person you want to love? Is this the best you can be? Is this the highest you can reach? Can you be stronger, kinder, better, more compassionate? Decide! Breathe in, breathe out and decide. We’ve got only one life to live, at least on this planet. So why not make it an adventure in living? Why not explore the lengths and widths of living? Why not discover what you can do and what you can have? Why not decide to have the best? Why not now take the challenge? You get to decide whether history will forget you or keep you in mind. You get to decide whether you will have footprints or your prints are so faint to be seen. Why not take your choices as your last chances and make a name for yourself in the annals of greatness. Sincerely, your voice deserves being heard in the hi-fi of history. DECIDE!

I AM THE NEW YEAR

I am the New Year. I unfolded like a blossom with petals tightly concealing the beauty within. I am unspotted, unblemished, unused, unspoiled.  I am a new page in the book of your time. I stretch out for some three hundred and sixty-six days presenting each days with new opportunities, new memories, and new experiences. I am your next chance at the art of living. I am your opportunity to practice what you have learned about life during the last twelve months. I am your only opportunity to correct the mistakes you made in my predecessor. I am a virgin never being touched by any man. I am your opportunity to make all things new. The goals you never scored, the dreams you never dared, the hopes you never willed, and the plans you never actualized can all be rekindled in me. Every day, I will give you twenty-four complete hours to achieve your dreams. Every hour, I will bless you with sixty perfect minutes to score your goals. Every minute, I will present you the best sixty seconds you’ve ever seen just so you can actualize your plans.  I am the New Year! I wish you well. Be your best in me and I promise you will get the best out of me.

2015 IN RETROSPECT

The year 2015 started on a bright note full of hopes and dreams. Hopes and dreams of things to accomplish, things to achieve @goals and plans to reach. In all, it has been a fruitful journey with many dreams accomplished, many goals scored and many wishes coming to reality. Although, there were unaccomplished goals but that does not take away the fact that it has been a wonderful year all through. The brand “INSPIRE ME” has grown from muscles to muscles, nerves to nerves and strength to strength. It has not been devoid of setbacks at some points but they were all overcome with resilience and perseverance. This piece therefore retrospectically remembers the achievements of the year, the mistakes and blunders made and a plan of how to correct them in the nearest future. Ride along as we appreciate our successes and failures.

YOUR CHOICE: Posted on the 23rd of July, 2o15. It was a piece that itemized the choices that we have to make whether to choose success or failure, whether to believe in yourself or not. It ended with these quote “You either opt to choose wisely OR you remain a fool forever. It is still your choice”. 
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE: Posted on the 6th of August, 2015. It was a piece that exemplified the lives of the antelope and the lion in writing. One is running from the other while the other is running to catch up with the other. It further posited that everyone in life is running from something and also running to catch up with something so we must all run well the race we have started. 
HOME: Posted on the 12th of August, 2015. It was a piece that was written when the writer was missing home during his compulsory one year National Youth Service Corp. It highlighted what the home should do in await of his eventual coming back. https://t.co/6JN6AsNnJX

It explained how the snail and the tortoise will continue to move at their pace without caring what others are saying. PASSION: A CRAZE SO SERIOUS

Passion is the feeling that tells you this is the right thing to do; nothing can stand in my way. It doesn’t matter what anyone else says; I’m going to follow this way and act upon this glorious sensation of joy. A feeling so good that it cannot ignored. A craze so serious to put more energy into something than is required. It is more than enthusiasm or excitement, it is the ambition to put as much heart, mind, body and soul into something as possible. Being passionate is never by chance, it comes from the hungry and thirsty intention to do what you love and to do more of it. Maybe that is why success comes to those who dedicate everything to their passion. In truth, they deserve it because they have been crazily serious about something. In essence, I choose to be passionate about what makes me happy because my mission in life is not merely to survive but to thrive and flourish in whatever takes away my passion. I therefore elect to be seriously crazy about what radiates paradise in me.
