THE DIFFERENCE MAKERS

“If all of us follow the same route, we will definitely all arrive at the same destination. It is only the man that differentiates himself from the rest of us that will arrive at a destination entirely different from ours” – Adetayo OJO.

The choice to do what others won’t do always has embedded in it the prospects of achieving what others will never achieve. I mean the desire to do the supposed ordinary things in the extraordinary ways – it’s the choice of significantly differencing yourself from your contemporaries just to make a difference. It’s the deliberate decision that you will not follow the supposed norms which will definitely give you the supposed result but you are ready to differentially approach it in a new way in order to get a new result. People who do this are those who discover new discoveries. They are the ones who intentionally decide to forget about the discoveries of the past and then embark on their own journey just to bring about new discoveries. They are the TRAIL BLAZERS, the RECORD BREAKERS and the DIFFERENCE MAKERS. They rule the world. They control millions and their inventions affect billions. Thumbs up to them, they are the DIFFERENCE MAKERS of our time.

I choose to be different. You can too.

THE GAME (is not) OVER

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end. It is impossible for an end to exist without a beginning but it is very possible for a beginning to exist without an end. The end of a beginning is never the end because every beginning is a consequence of an end. That's why the word 'GAME OVER' is not only the end of a game but it is simultaneously the beginning of a new game. A game that produces 'GAME OVER' does not signify the end but it signifies the greatest opportunity to start a new game and play until you are the eventual winner.
Until you have seen the end of a beginning, you must never start a new beginning because the best rewards are always reserved for those who see the end while starting the beginning. They are always ready to give everything until they get to the end.

Remember that every journey that is never ended is never a journey. You can win the game. You deserve nothing lesser.

NEVER IMPOSSIBLE

The road to starting a new beginning may sometimes be long but one sure thing is that it is never impossible. It is never impossible to make a new beginning. It is never impossible to start a new journey. It is never impossible to forget about the past and focus on the present. It is never impossible to forget about the errors and blunders of yesterday and focus on the prospects of today. It is never impossible to bring something out of the present. It is never impossible to end with the past by beginning with the present. The present has in stock for you the best rewards only if you make a great use of it. Make the best use of today. It is never too late to bring a wonderful future from the present. You can do it. A winning tomorrow awaits you.

LEARN FROM OTHERS

"If you are too proud to learn from others, you will be too humble to fail" - Adetayo Ojo.

Some people are just too big to accept that they don't know something. They will never agree that they don't know. They feel they are Mr Know-it-all. They are too big to learn from others because of their pride. Such an ACT!
One sure thing in life is that you can never know everything. The best you can do will be to provide yourself for learning even from your subs. Learning from others is a must if at all you wish to be relevant in your environment. Learning from others doesn't show that you are weak, infact, it shows the strength you have in constantly trying to acquire new grounds of knowledge even from the least of all men. You can never grow beyond what you have learnt. It's only a man that constantly learns that constantly grows. It's never too much to grow to the skies.

THE FINISH LINE

One great reason why you can't afford to give up now is because you are almost there. You started the journey in the first place because you believed you could finish it. You believed you could achieve it, that was why you put all your effort together to start it. You started it because you knew it was within your reach. You don't have to betray the strong belief you had in yourself now. It will a tragedy to have given all your energy for something you have no intention of finishing. You can go the little distance remaining. Don't quit! You are 5 minutes away from the finish line.

MY CRIES FOR NIGERIA

I recently applied for a programme somewhere. Consequent upon the application, a lot of us were examined.
Based on my believe and confidence in what I did, I decided to stand by what I’ve done and hope to be enlisted. To my greatest disappointment, I went there to check my name only to find my name missing. Following up on this, I decided to consult with the coordinator of the exam to at least allow me to see my results and probably judge whether it was my failure or otherwise that cost me the admission. Not to my surprise, I did excellently well, but there were unknown and unseen hands writing the names of those who lobbied and literally and woefully failed in the exam. I nearly cried.
Although I sure knew that the Nigerian situation involves intense lobbying to get anywhere, I would have expected that in such a not-to-expected place, merit would be the order. Infact, I experienced this same thing when I wanted to gain admission to Uni, I couldn’t help but think about it when in the least place one would have expected such, it happened.

‘We are always quick at blaming our leaders but the truth is we are all failing as followers’.
When is this country going to start celebrating the deserving? When are we going to start appreciating the efforts of those who worked and toiled for greatness? When are we going to leave the era of recognizing failure? We are always very quick at appreciating those who failed than we are at recognizing those who succeeded because of their efforts. When are we going to stop wining and dining with failure? When are we going to start celebrating meritocracy and kill lobbitocracy (pardon me)? I hope we get there but until we start appreciating the efforts involved in success and greatness, it may be very difficult for this country to achieve greatness. (Not a curse)
Although I got into the programme at last, I couldn’t help but cry for my dear nation NIGERIA.

THE FIRST AND THE BEST

It's never compulsory for you to be the FIRST but it is always necessary for you to be the BEST. The fact that you are the FIRST on the list does not make you the BEST. You may be the FIRST to solve a problem but that does not guarantee that your solution is the BEST. The FIRST and the BEST are two separate people- the fact is they all get the end result but the quality of their results are different. The FIRST does it quicker but the BEST does it better. The fact that number 1 is the FIRST number does not make it the best.
Mind you, it is never a crime to be the FIRST but it is always a crime not to give your BEST to be the first. Your FIRST may solve the problem at the instant but your BEST will solve the problem for generations to come.
Choose to give your BEST in your pursuit of the FIRST.
